The artist
Nikolay Cherednichenko
Nikolay Cherednichenko (b. 1958, Nakhodka) is a painter and sculptor. Working in oil with a palette knife, he builds dense, layered surfaces in which the city, the landscape and the flower dissolve into rhythm, texture and colour — an approach he describes as monovisual kinematic expressionism. Alongside painting he makes sculpture from construction foam, cork and wood, marked by a dry, surreal humour.
